Okay…be honest here. Do you fight with your kid to eat healthy?
Yeah…me too!
So what was I supposed to do? Live the next 16 years fighting with Kayleigh to eat healthy? Um…no thanks!
I vividly remember my sister and I plotting how we were going to make those veggies disappear off our plates…just so we could leave the dinner table! One day we got smart though! No…we didn’t eat the veggies…nice try! One of us watched out for mom and dad while the other ran out to the garbage can in the backyard to throw them away! Success!!!
But oh man…I don’t want to go through that! I don’t want to watch my kid sit there for hours staring at her veggies, trying to come up with a plan, as they petrify and turn into some sort of science project right in front of her! So…time to figure out another plan!
Sneaky Chef to the rescue! I have found a book that has opened my options thanks to my friend, Chrystle’s recommendation! Missy, the author, is BRILLIANT! She purees healthy food (veggies, fruits and even whole grains) and then incorporate them into recipes! She is an angel! She won the healthy food battle…and is sharing how!
Saturday I went in search for the book…came home…and finished the whole thing in a hour! Granted there are a lot of recipes that I didn’t read all the way through…I was just so intrigued by how she was going to make my life SO much easier! I have made my shopping list and I’m heading to the store today! And when I get home…chocolate chip cookies will be baking…filling the air with sweet goodness! But, just what the heck are in them that make them healthy you ask?! Well…Navy beans, wheat germ, and whole-wheat flour are the basic sneaky ingredients! Kayleigh isn’t going to know what hit her!
Someday I might share with her what I am doing…but for now...it’s my little secret!

I'd love to know how this experiment turns out!!!
LOVE IT!! Try the cauliflower mac and cheese!! Its actually tasy!!
@Cherish: I made the chicken tenders and she ate 4 of them!!! She hardly eats 2 of the small frozen kind!!! I recommend it!!! You can even hide healthy stuff in mayo, mustard, peanut butter!!!
@Sarah: I plan on it...I am hoping she will eat it though...because she went on an "I don't like mac-n-cheese" spree!! LOL!!!
